LOTERÍA SWD EDITION TEE - LA YORBA

from $30.00

Standing tall in the heart of Southwest Detroit, La Yorba (Card 26) honors one of our neighborhood’s most iconic landmarks the historic Hotel Yorba, a building woven into the stories, sounds, and spirit of our community.

Built in 1926, the Hotel Yorba began as a residential hotel and became a familiar fixture along Michigan Avenue. Over the decades, it witnessed generations of Southwest Detroit families, travelers, musicians, and dreamers pass through its doors. Though the building now sits boarded and closed after decades of wear, its presence continues to hold deep meaning for those who grew up in its shadow.

For many, the Hotel Yorba is also tied to Detroit music history. The landmark gained national attention when Jack White, who grew up just down the street in Southwest Detroit, and his band The White Stripes featured the building in their now-famous Hotel Yorba music video  placing this neighborhood gem on the global stage.

This tee captures more than architecture; it captures memory, music, and neighborhood pride.
